MICHAEL McCLURE Obituary

MICHAEL A. McCLURE, 55, passed away of Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a member of the Army National Guard. He enjoyed collecting World War II memorabilia and loved spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife, Rhonda McClure of Churubusco; son, Aaron McClure of Columbia City; daughter, Jessica McClure of Churubusco; sisters, Joy McClure and Geanie (Troy) Edgington, both of Fort Wayne; brothers, Fred (Sandie) McClure Jr., Brian McClure and Tom McClure, all of Fort Wayne; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Margaret McClure Sr.; and sister, Patty. Service is 10 a.m. Thursday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, with calling one hour prior to service. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A reception will follow the service at St. Vincents Boy Scout Lodge, 8965 Auburn Road. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. You always knew when Michael entered a room. His voice, his laugh, his personality, his very presence was as huge as his love for FAMILY!! Some of my most cherished memories include, Me, Freddy, Mike, Patty, and Joy, and other members of our large family; just being kids. We always had big Sunday dinners and great holidays together. Those days are missed. I'm sure when Michael left this world, he was embraced by many of our most precious loved ones that have gone before us, and I feel comfort in knowing that he is not alone. He is with the best of the best.

As kids we seen each other more than the once a year family reunion. With all of us kids there was always something interesting going on. As adults we have all gone our own way and the get togethers a LOT fewer. Still there are a lot of fond memories... will miss ya
