Not sure what to say?

On Jan. 15th 2006, I found out my friend died. It felt as though I had been punched in the stomach.I had the pleasure of meeting the Doctor about 13 years ago. Our cat had gotten in a fight and was very ill. Dr. McDonald took him right in and with love and compassion, he made Bandit better. He was the vet we went to for spay and neutering. He was an incredible talent and had a gift for working with animals. He was a wonderful man and a champion for the animals. Rest in peace my friend. I hope...

I was grooming for my trainer friend Jill Thomas when we had the great fortune to meet Michael. With his vet guidance Jill & Focus
Flame made Top Ten at the Arabian U.S. National's in Louisville 1992. Through the years Jill & I
became friends with Michael & his
lovely mother & father & his sister Jane. Michael & his mother &
father will always be remembered with love & all the caring fun times we had in Louisville. To Jane,Mary,Sharon & Robert & his sons & all his treasured...

I just recently found out and I'm shocked. Life was too short for such a compassionate person. May you rest in peace Dr. McDonald.

I thought waiting to write something would make it easier - but it hasn't. Dr. Mike, we all miss you. I will always have your OJ and coffee waiting for you. I promise not to flavor it ever again. Sally - the coffee is on here in Patriot for you.

To Dr. Mike's family: Because of your understanding and love for Dr. Mike - he was able to touch so many lives. Thank you from all of us to you. His devotion to helping animals and others definately will be missed. He was a special...

My family and I will never forget you, Dr. Mike. The horse you saved 24 years ago is still alive and well. We always had the greatest respect for your knowledge and kindness with our horses. Will always remember the rescue of the horse in the cistern as well. God Bless You and Good Bye, Dr. Mike.

Dr. McDonald was the most caring and loving vet that I a have known. He has doctored our horses, cats and dogs since I was a young child. The day that I remember the most was about 11 years ago. My daughter had just had surgery on her eyes and I came home and found my best show mare colicing. She was 9 years old and I had had her since she was a baby. This was like a child. The barn where she was boarded called a vet. They said she was twisted and needed to be euthanized. I told them no...

I knew Dr. McDonald in the context of mobile spay/neuter clinics. He came to our community, Switzerland County, IN, eight times over the last four years and "fixed" over 1,000 dogs and cats. I believe he was a pioneer in the concept of "mobile" spay/neuter clinics. Dr. McDonald was dedicated and committed to spay/neuter, and we can certainly say he did more than his part to make it happen. He made spay/neuter within reach to SO many pet guardians who could not otherwise have afforded it. ...

My thoughts & prayers are with the family.

My condolences to Sally and the entire McDonald family during this terrible time. I had the pleasure of working with Mike last year and it was he who encouraged me to go to New Orleans in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina to help the animals. He taught me so much and was always there to help me with my vet tech studies. He was a wonderful veterinarian and friend. He will be greatly missed, his contribution to animal welfare was tireless, his dedication to his profession was endless. May he...
