Michael McLeod
Barton, VT-Michael McLeod unexpectedly passed away February 17, 2021. Michael was born November 25, 1977 in Berlin, Vermont. Michael was a life-long Vermonter who had a love of adventure running through him.
Michael loved two things the most: the great outdoors and his family. Michael loved to spend time fishing, camping, and hunting for that elusive buck. Michael prided himself on his extensive knowledge of vehicles and how to repair them. He taught all his girls how to work on broken rigs. One of his favorite things to say to them was, “with girls like you, who needs boys.” Michael was so proud of the off-road group he founded called the “802 Off Road Crew.” He led them on many off-road excursions.
Michael loved his wife, Katrine and cherished all the time they spent together, both in the woods and at home. Michael was so proud to be the first person to bring Katrine to the ocean.
Spending hours having “The Fast and the Furious” marathons was one of the many ways he loved to spend time with his daughters.
Michael is survived by his wife, Katrine McLeod; his daughters: Kayla, McKenzie, Jorja, Tia and Willow. He leaves behind his father, John Smith and wife, Garlindy; his mother, Rebecca McLeod and her spouse, Richard; his sister, Emmi and her partner, Adam; his sister, Kristen and her husband, Adam; his sister, Erin and her husband, Damien and his sister, Lorraine. Michael leaves behind his good friend, Ben, who loved off roading and hanging out with Mike. He also leaves behind Samuel Prevost, who he considered a brother and his partner in what they liked to call “Adventures of Mike and Sam”
Michael will be greatly missed and was loved by many. As he liked to say, “it’s see you later, not goodbye.” So see you later Michael, fly high.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to assist with Michael’s funeral expenses. He did not want to be cremated.
Faith Funeral Home in Morrisville is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made by visiting faithfh.net.
