MICHAEL McMANUS

I've only just learned of Michael's passing, and I am greatly saddened. I met him while a literature student at UCSD, he a graduate student in visual arts and myself as the arts editor for the UCSD Daily Guardian. Michael was a true Irishman, being a genuine scholar, a sly and witty raconteur, a splendidly gifted artist and a captivating storyteller. He took a genuine interest in the well being of his friends and his students; I can only imagine what sort of impressively impressive teacher...

Michael was my graduate advisor at Cal State Fullerton, a brilliant artist and educator. He profoundly influenced my education and subsequent art career. Thank you, Michael, rest in peace.

Hard to find words. But such deep gratitude for a friendship so many years ago.

I had the great pleasure of working with Michael at the Laguna College of Art and Design, in California. He is remembered and missed by hundreds of students and colleagues whose lives have been forever enriched by having known him. Rest in Peace, Michael.
