This saddens me deeply. I am only now, in May of 2019, seeing the news of his passing. He was a good friend for several years before the simple passage of time slowly pulled us apart. I was in the Army with Mike for his time as an artillery officer at Fort Sill. We taught gunnery together. After the Army we stayed close for several years, visiting at each others home. What a positive terrific person Mike was. He always had a big hug with a smile on his face. He will be missed by a lot of people at many of his favorite pastimes. What a lovely family and many friends he has. My tears for Lysbeth in her loss.

What a wonderful man Mike was! He gave the best hugs. He was kind, warm-hearted, hospitable, caring and always good company. When my husband died he and Lysbeth put their arms around me and walked with me ever since as I came to terms with my grief. He will be missed. Di Pagel
