MELDRUM - Michael G. May 5, 2011. Beloved husband of Diane Gall-Meldrum; loving father of Alexander and Julia; dear brother of George (Betty), Ivan, William (Yvonne), Thomas (Sharon), Marjorie Mancinelli and Timothy (Sherry) Meldrum; also survived by nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the KOLANO FUNERAL HOME, 396 Amherst Street, (near Grant), Monday 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Hope Church, Lafayette near Grant Street, Tuesday at 9:30 AM. Please assemble at church. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mike was a wondrous visionary in the Buffalo folk scene. In the 70's when I read poetry at the Shoreline Coffee House at the Shoreline Apts, Mike played his guitar with my poetry. I was very shy, and brought my children with me. He gave my son Mark a harmonica there when Mark was only 6. Mark was very impressed by that, and went on to compose music until he started GirlPope and now with Mark Norris and the Backpeddlers. Mike signed his last CD for me, and always had a hug for me. Diane, Julia, and Alexander, I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in our hearts and prayers. Mike was a wonder man.
