RIP Mike,

I Thank you for being a Great Friend and a Role Model as a Coach!!

My condolences to the Merritt Family. As a student at Mount Saint Mary's, Mike was a truly thoughtful man that help so many students of diversity. He could always make you laugh and love making a difference to so many that attended "The Mount".

My condolences to the family of Coach Mike Merritt. I will always appreciate the opportunity he gave me to compete at the college level at The Mount and how thoughtful and supportive he was of me especially when I was struggling. He will be missed.

Mike graduated from Mt. St. Mary's just before I became one of its runners. His team mates, friends and coaches always spoke of Mike with admiration. Those of us who had not known Mike still looked up to his achievements. He was a great champion and clearly gave the best of himself to the athletes he coached. Well done sir

Michael, you are now at peace and can enjoy the blessings the Lord, Our Father gave to you and all you've touched. God bless you and the family members, especially your little brother, you left behind. Rita Woods Holmes

Coach Merritt was a kind and gentle soul. I am happy he chose to coach my daughter. His sport was only one of many lessons he shared with his athletes.
