Not sure what to say?

I was neighbors with the family and had many great times with all of them ! Mike was ALWAYS shooting hoops and making buzzer beaters daily. He lived, and breathed basketball. He went on to play at TN and was a great dad. i was so sorry to hear of his passing but will forget him or the family.

Hard to believe its been 6 years since we lost a great guy & role model for all. So many great memories that we all have about Mike. Very cool, calm and collective 'Ice Man' as everyone knows and in reading what we all wrote about 6 years ago, I often recall the 'heat' he brought to the baseball mound of Junedale LL in Gary. In one of his many no-hitter attempts, I happened to swing as Mike was in his wind-up & miraculously the ball zoomed into right field for a base-hit. I cant imagine...

I am so sorry to hear about Mike's passing. I played with Mike for 2 years at UT Martin. He was a great player but also a great person. Mike and I were suite mates his first year at UTM. I taught him how to split the cable signal so we both had cable tv in our suites. He will be missed.

I was shocked to here the sad news of Mikes passing. I remember as i kid Mike would alway be shoiting hoops at the house always doing the countdown 3...2...1 he scores !! Well looks like Mike got lots of those opportunities in his basketball carrer. I wish i could have kept touch with Mike but he will live on with me and many others. God bless his family and im sure they will be ok.

I would like to share a funny story that showed Mike's great sense of humor. When he told me about being the all-time leading scorer at UT-Martin, I said, "you sure must have shot the ball a lot." Mike quickly replied, "Dude, when I got off the bus somebody better be checking me, because I would shoot from anywhere." He is missed.

Mike played basketball for my dad at Merrillville High School. He was a great basketball player with the biggest competitive spirit. He led by example with his toughness and leadership. He will always be remembered with fondness. We are so sorry for your loss.

Heard this news just today. Saddens me.
Such a nice guy...nice family.
Prayers to his wife & children

RIP..."ICE MAN" may god look over your wonderful family.

Sending my sympathy and prayers to the whole Meschede family. Peace be with you all.
