Michael J. Meyer, 50, of East Meredith (a very loving and devoted husband, best friend to Debbie and the man of her dreams), died unexpectedly at his home Saturday, April 15, 2006.
He was born May 4, 1955, in Brooklyn, the son of Walter and Elaine (Walsh) Meyer.
On Nov. 3, 1984, Mike married Deborah Amadon in Delhi.
Mike graduated from Mary Queen of Heaven School and at-tended SUNY Delhi in the Civil Technology Department.
Mike worked for Wood Grocery where he learned to be a butcher. He then worked for Provimi Veal Plant in Bloomville, un-til the plant closed, at which time he then went to work for Catskill Landscaping, of DeLancey. He then started his own landscaping business, Charlotte Valley Landscaping and for the last 16 years, Mike has been a butcher for Steiner Packing Co. of Otego.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, all types of music (he could name any artist or band), his beer, and playing the harmonica. As an avid gardener, he could grow everything, and he was an amazing cook.
He raised pheasants and made maple syrup.
Mike was a Scout leader in Delhi and Davenport for 10 years. As a mentor, best friend and caregiver to all, Mike opened his home and gave them something to eat to everyone in need, no matter what the time, day or night. He had a huge heart and a smile that was just as big.
Often you could find Mike road tripping, partying and just hav-ing a good time. But most of all, Mike loved spending time and car-ing for his family. He was the greatest father to Gregory, Max, Mathew and Tabitha.
Mike touched so many lives and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
