Not sure what to say?

Dr. Miller had a tremendous impact on my medical education, my approach to medicine as well as my approach to medical education of others. Even though it's been decades since I graduated (1987), I still can hear him exclaiming, "Bazowah!" when students would answer one of his queries with an off the mark response. I have used it myself for decades. When one thinks about giants of medicine, Dr. Miller surely should be included.
A great man, who will be sorely missed.
Rest easy...

Dr. Miller was an important part of my medical education. He was ruthless if you tried to fake an answer during rounds, but he was also a tremendous mentor and friend to all of us in the class of 1987. I was lucky enough to partake of his generosity at his beach house and his home in Portland, where he showered us measly medical students with humor, great food, and his signature cocktails. He encouraged us to think both freely and critically, a difficult task that has been a tremendous asset...

Oh my, we are all so saddened to read this obituary about our dear friend, Mike.
Mike lived with us for 3 years and became such a part of our life and our neighborhood in Los Altos Hills, Ca. We have so many memories of him that we will cherish. Mike had such a big heart: he loved his God, his family, his work and his friends. Our girls would be so excited on Saturday or Sunday mornings when Mike would come into the kitchen (from his small, monastic room attached to the house) to make...

Dr. Mike was a customer of ours at farmers market for years. He usually showed up 15 or 20 minutes before the market opened to see what was on offer and to chat. Mike loved potatoes, especially fingerlings and whenever he bought a big quantity of anything we knew he was planning to cook for a family gathering.

One Saturday morning, out of the blue, Mike showed up with a gift for me. It was an old, weathered, hand lettered sign he took from some fence at the beach. Beautifully...

I graduated from OHSU in 1971. Dr. Miller was an impressive person and teacher. I was also in USPHS and served in the Indian Health Service at Shiprock, N.M. when Dr. Miller visited us. I have personal pictures as my screen saver and periodically see Dr. Miller in pictures taken while he was with us there. He was a very important part of my medical education and I am thankful for the role he played in my life. My sympathy to his family for their great loss, and the loss to medical...

Dean Miller was a great physician and teacher. Also a great film actor! I really liked his teaching sessions in my Pediatrics rotation when I was a student 30 years ago. His humor was unique. Never met anyone else like him,

Dr. Mike Miller certainly cast a tall shadow! and protected all who fell within it. He was my attending on Pediatrics for six whole weeks as a med student on Peds, and had high expectations of his students. My admit notes always had to have a complete and thoughtful differential and plan, skills that I value and try to teach my own trainees today, along with a few 'tall stories about Dr. Miller'. Mike always looked out for us. He had a gruff exterior, a big smile, and a soft underbelly. On...

Mike is one of my favorites from medical school and residency in the early 90's. Generous with his time, his knowledge, and his beach house, his common sense and no nonsense style is one I think I have come to emulate. A great example of not taking yourself too seriously and the respect you can generate from just being and overall nice person.
