Michael Nicholas Miscio III, age 49, son of Michael and Ann Miscio, was born on February 27, 1974 weighing 9 lbs. 7 ounces at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. He was the oldest of five siblings, sister Meredith and brothers Christopher, Thomas, and Paul. He was baptized in Crawford Notch, NH at Arethusa Falls on a chilly day in May following a winding journey by his parents, Father Ivan Ferguson, his godfather Alan Craig Sheridan, his godmother Sister Jane McDermott, Ronald Fenn, Laurie Sheridan, and Robert and Mimi Pawlowski.
His confirmation was at St. Rose of Lima Church in Littleton, where he was sponsored by godparents Richard and Sherry Robie.
Mike attended St. Stanislaus Elementary School in New Haven through first grade. Following the family moving to Bethlehem, NH, he attended Bethlehem Elementary School and Profile High School. While at Profile, Mike was outstanding in Latin and participated in the Granite State Challenge multiple times. As a senior he took a leading role in producing the school yearbook. In his free time, he would write scripts and make movies, with his siblings acting as extras.
Following graduation, he was accepted to and attended Emerson College in Boston. He completed his graduation requirements in three and a half years, including participating in the summer session at the Los Angeles campus. In order to pursue his interests in film writing and animation, he returned to Los Angeles following graduation and began working for Warner Brothers in the animation department. To make rent some months, he would travel to Las Vegas to test his luck at roulette. While working at Warner Brothers, he reconnected with Rocio Aceves, a fellow Emerson alum. The two had been inseparable since.
Mike and Rocio were married at St. Isabella’s Catholic Church in June of 2003 in San Rafael, California. After marrying Rocio, they eventually settled in Petaluma, California. Michael and Rocio have two beautiful children, Violet Sabrina and Michael Nicholas IV. Michael returned to graduate school to earn his MBA and made a new career for himself in financial services. Violet and Mikey congratulated him with open arms upon receiving his degree, proud of their father. Throughout his employment career, he was a valued employee and loved by many of his colleagues.
Throughout his life, Mike strove to be kind, humble and caring. As a son, Mike was thoughtful and loving. Always competitive as a brother, there were few contests he lost. As an adult, he was independent and successful.
His interests in film and TV were wide and far reaching, including Star Trek, Alf, Perfect Strangers, and the Three Stooges. Mike had deep knowledge of a variety of topics, from film and TV to politics, history and sports. In every room and conversation, Mike was cracking jokes and making everyone laugh. He and his brother Chris would riff endlessly, playing back and forth amid rolling laughter.
Mike was a loving and attentive husband, deeply in love with Rocio and an amazing, dedicated father to Violet and Mikey. His greatest joy came in being with his family. He was content shuttling his children around to activities. He treasured special conversations with his children on those car rides, enjoyed his coffee dates with Violet, and frequent trips to the comic book store with Mikey.
Michael lived his life wholeheartedly with big love and lots of laughs. He was an eternal optimist and lifted everyone’s spirits around him. The joy of his voice greeting his family and his dear Barnaby as he walked in the door will be dearly missed, but the impact his love has made on his family and friends will never be forgotten.
