I'm sorry, it's taken me so long to write but I just couldn't do it. Two reasons: 1) Mike died on my daughter's 17th Birthday so we do think about him and talk about him every year on that day. I met Mike while attending EWU. We sat together in a few classes and got along very well. Just the same interests and similar humor. Both of us driven by the desire to fly. I am so very glad to have been his friend. When I look at his accomplishments in the Army, I just wish so very badly I could tell him how proud I am of him.

Out of honor & respect for the family, I did not approach at that time, but vowed to return later. I wanted to know more about this fallen hero, and honor him/her if only with my heart & thoughts. Upon returning, I could not identify the resting place of that individual, but I did...

I hate that you're gone. It's painful. I can't even fathom the pain of your family.
