MOORE, Sr., Michael M. MIKE MOORE Mr. Michael 'Mike' M. Moore, Sr., age 72, of Douglasville, GA passed away on August 8, 2013, at Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain. The son of Sibyl M. Moore and Curtis L. Moore, Mike was born on June 16, 1941 in Cullman, AL and grew up in Atlanta, GA. Mike lived in Douglasville since 1968. Mike attended Grady High School and was Co-President of his '59 senior class. He then attended GA Tech University. Mike was an excellent keyboardist and lifelong musician playing in bands including Night Shadows and Brookwood Station. He started a cultured marble business out of his basement in 1968 which is now run by his son Mickey. He was a member and faithful supporter of Heritage Baptist Church. He loved boating and was an officer at the Allatoona Yacht Club. Mike was a dedicated son who took care of his mother and aunt until their passing and loved spending time with his family. He leaves his son, Michael M. Moore, Jr. and his wife Tracy Moore; his son, John T. Moore; his daughter Mary S. Moore; two grandchildren, Dylan Moore and Braden Moore; and many friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, August 10, 2013 from 2-4 PM with the service following at 4:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Rev. Gene Fields officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Heritage Baptist Church, 8800 Rose Ave., Douglasville, GA 30134 or the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
