Not sure what to say?

So many more lives have been lost due to addiction since I wrote last. The pandemic has taken over the news. Since the loss of my son I continue to pray for all the young people getting caught up with the disease. I hope your family is healing. Stay strong.

Special Young Man

I'm reading this young man's obituary and he sounds like he was an amazing person. It's beautiful his family has these memories of him.

To the family of Michael. I have been reading stories of all these young men and women losing their fight with this horrible opiate addiction. I too lost a son Michael due to heroin addiction. He didn't overdose he died from meningitis. He was clean for a little over two months but got fungal meningitis and went into cardiac arrest. He was on life support for less than two days and we had to take him off. His immune system was compromised due to years of heroin addiction. It's been a year and...

SO very saddening....to the young Daughter/Parents/Siblings/Grandparents/Loved Ones....I am so very sorry and heartbroken for you to read about your beloved Father/Son/Brother/Grandson/Loved one losing his battle against an unrelenting disease....it just doesn't seem right. I take Solace with you and believe Michael is soaring amongst Angles and is Safe in the Loving Arms Of Our Heavenly Father....my heartfelt condolences to all who knew this young man who was so determined to overcome this...

I did not know Seth but my brother did and shared this most moving tribute with me. Thank you for sharing the true nature of addiction and the life of those who are caught in its grasp. Obituaries such as this help break the stigma. Thank you to you and Seth.

God bless this young man , it is a hard struggle , he is with God now with his wings. No pain , no addiction

Seth's story and his personality sound so much like that of our 26 year old son whose life has been ravaged by drugs since college and who is currently fighting his battle in long term rehab. My tears flowed reading the obituary because I know the heartbreak of loving an addict . Thank you for your beautiful words about your son and about addiction. You honored him and all those whose lives have been touched by addiction, and I hope you helped people who don't know this world
to understand...

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I did not know your son, but when a friend posted his obituary on fb, I read it because she felt Seth was special enough to share about his life. Whoever wrote his obituary is a strong and courageous person. It was raw, powerful, and straightforward; non-sugar coated, and touched my soul. Working with addiction, I witness the struggles people go through on a daily basis. Addiction has no boundaries. I'm sorry his life was cut so short...

I am so very sorry for your loss. Your honesty and courage in honoring Seth are beautiful, and I have no doubt that the light of his love will guide you through the days ahead.
