MICHAEL J. MORRISSEY
JULY 21, 1958 - OCTOBER 5, 2025
Morrissey Michael J., Beloved son of the late Samuel and Isabel (nee McDonald). Brother of Sam (Toni), Barbara Morrissey , Anne (Terence) Brady. Uncle of Trista, Nicholle, Sylvia, Dan and Kellyanne. Mike is also survived by Laura Gallagher his longtime girlfriend and companion.
Mike will be remembered as a man of few words and always fun to be around, his humor was so quick and dry. You never knew what he would come out with. Such a prankster.
He enjoyed spending time at the shore with friends around the campfire with his dog Middie. He loved tinkering with his treasured GTX car and fishing for hours on end. He was a loyal friend and loved his family. Always worrying about everyone else when he should be taking care of himself. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends and the laughter he brought to us all.
Family and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Gathering Thursday October 16, 2025 5:00PM to 6:30PM. at The Edward J. Petner Funeral Home Ltd.(family owned and operated)Christian Burial Service 6:30PM. Interment Private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mike’s name to the AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION.

Our sincere condolences to Bobbie,Sam, Ann and Laura on the loss of Mike. He was a great friend and I have known him for over 50 years. He would visit regularly, and we would look forward to that, never to be disappointed. We had many good times together, especially enjoying Mikes sense of humor. It was a pleasure having him for a friend, one you could always depend on. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.He will live on in our memories.

Anne, Bobby, and Sam, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I have so many happy memories of Mikey growing up and hanging out in Wiss park back in the 70s and 80s. But the most fun times were hanging out in your basement. That was the place to be for sure! I will think of Mike and smile. May he rest in peace in our Lord's hands. Love to you all ❤

Uncle Mike, we will miss you every day, but on holidays especially. You made us laugh so many times and always knew how to poke my mom's buttons. Thank you for all the gifts and memories, I'll always look back at our times together and smile. Love always, Danny and Kellyanne

To the Morrissey Family and Laura Gallagher: I am so sorry for your loss. There are no words that I could say to ease your sorrows, but know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers.
To Mike: Wow. Hard to believe you’re gone. I was absolutely shocked to hear this, as were many others. You have touched so many lives and will be missed by many. I have so many fun memories with you (like video games, your puking, and teeth at that benefit). For that, thank you. I know I will always smile...

It’s been a week now since I got the call and I still can’t accept it. I keep thinking how much fun we had over our lives. I will miss your humor and laugh. You always made us laugh. Holidays will never be the same. God has his reason for taking you and I know you are at peace and no longer suffering but that’s not helping me. In time it will. Rest easy until we meet again where I can hug you.
Love Anne(stinky)

Mike was a great guy. He would do anything for you if help was needed. I was lucky enough to know Mike for 10 years from our time down in the campground and we had some good times. Mike, rest easy now buddy. Endless Stella’s and steaks.

I knew Mike for 20 years and was proud to call him my best friend. If you were someone who judged a book by its cover, you would’ve never known the real Mike. He would’ve done anything he could to help someone as he often did. He had a sense of humor that only a few could really appreciate as we were birds of a feather with regards to that. I still can’t get over he is gone and I will miss him always
