Not sure what to say?

I enjoyed working with Mike for many years, exchanging gifts and cards at Christmas. He also used to bring in Camellia's from his garden. Quietly brilliant, very nice man. It was wonderful working with him and being his friend for nearly 30 years.

The staff at the Rancho Bernardo Library would like to say thank you to Michael for his willingness to teach new Chess players at the public library. His kindness and warmth and his ability to teach was greatly appreciated. Michael will be missed.

I played chess with Mike sometimes in Escondido. He was a great player, and an even better person. He was always willing to give tips and advice and was very humble despite his considerable skill.

Mike was a long-time member of the North County Chess Club in Oceanside. As a National Master, he was typically among the highest rated players there, and won many of its tournaments. He played with a quiet dignity and grace, and was always courteous and willing to help us lower rated players to understand where we went wrong. Mike will be greatly missed at the Club.
