Mike was a dear friend. We acted together in Chicago, but more importantly spent many evenings together sharing good food and drink with others and raising our voices in song. He was a great soul sadly lost to the world.

I just was informed of Michael's passing. My deepest condolences to all of Michael's family and friends. I apologize for such a tardy response. I had not spoken or seen Michael for many years since we played together in the theatre in Chicago as well as in many weekly bridge games at his apartment. He was such a generous and loving soul-a spiritual force and conduit who shared his gift with others. A Healer to be sure. I still remember the crystals he collected. His hearty laughter and bear hugs will be sorely missed. Wherever he is now I'm sure he is entertaining others and sharing his heart and mind."Flights of angels" are certainly by his side.

I knew Mike when he was an actor in Chicago, and a good one. After meeting him through my roommate when they did a show together in the 80s, we put together a several-year-long bridge game with a very unlikely cast of characters, headed, of course, by Mike.

It was my great pleasure to work with and befriend Mike when we acted together in theatre in Chicago many years ago. We stayed close for many years, then lost touch and only recently reconnected. The last email he sent said his oncologist spoke encouragingly of his response to treatment, so it was a very sad blow to read of his loss in one the Acting trade papers. I miss his joyous spirit and infectious laugh. My condolences to his family.

I have fond memories of spending time with Mike when my family would trek back to Missouri for family vacation. It has been wonderful going through and reading all the wonderful memories that everyone had of Mike. He truly touched sooooo many lives!
For his immediate family -- although I couldn't be there in person Mom and I were very much there in spirit.
All our love!

I remember listening to Mike sing when I was in the children's choir at St. David. Then when I was old enough to join the adult choir I had the pleasure of singing with him. We had the best time with the choir. I loved the parties we had after practices. There are nothing but great memories of Mike and I am blessed to have had such a good friend.

I never got to know Mr. Nash very well, but I know he was a great man. One day after 5th hour I was walking down the hall crying like a teenage girl, and he stopped me, not even knowing me, and talked to me until I was calm again. He was always kind and caring. He is a great man and he will be deary missed by many.

Mr Michael Nash was one of those rare few teachers who could instill passion in the hearts those he taught, and he also garnered their love. He was a great man, and will be missed by very many. Many of the generations that passed through the halls of Fox High got to know him, and all now mourn his loss. R.I.P Mr Nash. We take comfort in that you're now in a better place.

Mr. Nash was an amazing teacher. I graduated in 2003. I only had him as a sub but he always ready to jump the gun when you needed a teacher to do something silly/serious for an assembly or play. He always brightened your day when you saw him in the hall and you would definitely get jealous if he was subbing a class you weren't in that day! He will forever hold a place in the hearts of the students & people that had the pleasure of knowing him & will be greatly missed! Thoughts & Prayers to your family.

Mr. Nash was one of the most amazing, extraordinary people I have ever met. He taught me about Shakespeare, and he helped me find who I am. I remember that first day I walked into Shakespeare Club. I walked in and there sat this man who looked liked Santa. He was happy and fun. Nash taught us how to read Shakespeare correctly, and he taught us to work together. He was someone who I looked up to. Nash was like family to me. He will never be forgotten. You were amazing, Nash. Tell Shakespeare we said hi.

Mike was my first boss at Pizza Hut. I followed him to Jeffco when he did his first play "Fiddler on the Roof" ... we lost touch when he spread his acting talents around the midwest and even on the big screen. We were reunited when he came to Fox as a substitute teacher, a fill in teacher, then a full time Language Arts teacher. The most fun I had with Mike was when he and I were invited to do some of the plays together ... it was a chance for both of us to play "young" again like the high school students. You are missed already my friend. - Tim Miller, Fox teacher retired

Mikey(as I knew him) was more than just a great teacher. That only came in his later years. He was an incredibly talented singer, actor, and musician, and had so many adventures in his life. He will be sorely missed, as well as his great smile, and big booming laugh, which was always contagious. He was an extremely generous person, and we loved him very much. Rest in peace Mikey, and don't start up the next Irish band til I get there!!

Mike Nash was a vibrant and affable person. He often lit up a room with his bright eyes, wide smile and flowing beard. With a voice that one would never forget, he showed kindness to all. My favorite memories of Mike will always be when he sang patriotic songs, e.g., Amazing Grace or God Bless America, at St. David Church on Sunday mornings. He often brought tears to my eyes due to his passion for his craft. We'll all miss him.

Mr. Nash was a friend, a teacher, an angel, a beautiful song bird. I knew Mr. Nash from school as well as church for many years. He seemed to be around most of my childhood and adolescence. I remember singing with him at church. He also helped with PSR and RCIA. He was not only one of the most well known subs at Fox Senior High school but a well known chaperone for Choir and Stuco. Mr. Nash was a very good man with a warm heart. He loved people and children alike. He had a passion for music, church and school. I will miss him dearly and church choir will simply never be the same.

Mike's passing has left a huge whole in my heart. He was more then just a friend to me, Doug, Ellen, Thomas and Emily, he was our family. Friends like Mike don't come in to a person's life very often. I have been blessed to know Mike since I was a child and then as I got older he became my friend. I have many great memories of him. I sang at St. David's Church choir with Mike for about 12 years. All the Christmas Eve masses...they were a huge deal to him and he was a big part of them. Every Sunday, all the holidays, and getting the whole gang together every week to practice...all those are memories I cherish and will miss. I am sure Izzy, Dan, Doug, Mary Jo, the Penningtons and the rest of the original choir group will miss him terribly. Wish I could make it to the funeral, but I will be in class in Columbia, MO. Nash Family:
We will keep you and your family in our prayers in this time of sorrow. Mike was an outstanding man, we would see him almost daily at the gas station playing a game. He was a wonderful friend and we shared many great stories together. I can not remember a time he was not laughing and joking around. Not only did he care out about his family he extended his family to all his kids in class. He was the most understanding and outgoing teacher Fox could of had. Now he will be looking down and guiding us in our lives daily, with that I find comfort. He will never be forgotten by many people.

Mr. Nash... well... He had a huge impact on my life. I was in his class my Sophomore year at Fox. I absolutely loved it. He taught me so much, and I had so many interesting conversations with him. He was definitely a man worth looking up to. Then, my junior year, I decided I wanted to make the leap to AP Language Arts. I was scared.. I mean, college classes compared to that normal LA II I was taking. But Mr. Nash believed in me, and told me everyday that I deserved to be there, and he knew I would do just fine. Then, this year, my senior year, I was put in his class again by mistake instead of my AP IV class. I walk into Mr. Nash's class room that first day to see him in a wheel chair. My heart sank. But he looked at me and gave me the biggest smile I've ever seen. I told him how happy I was to see him, holding back tears, and said how sorry I was that I had to trade out of his class. I really needed the AP credit. He proceeded to tell me "That's okay, AP Language Arts is where you belong." Once again, he just boosted me to move forward. He came to school every day he possibly could this year until the very end. I will never forget this man. He meant a lot to me. The halls of Fox High School are never going to be the same without him. R.I.P.
