Our Last Time Together

I think of Mr. O often. He was such a positive influence in my life. I was so happy to have spent a sunny afternoon with him before he passed. It was just me and him, drinking screwdrivers on his porch, and reminiscing.

Just an incredible man.

Mr. O'Connor was a wonderful teacher and a very positive person. My mother Bettie Finkbohner worked at LaTercera for as many years as Mr. O taught... I can hear his voice and his laugh as I type this... He will be missed.

If you lived in Petaluma and went to LT you knew what Mr O was all about. Being in his class in 5th and 6th grade I have several great memories. What struck me then and now, is they don't make Americans like him anymore. I remember one of his lessons or principles: "If you are going to write on the bathroom wall at least have the guts to sign your name after it."

Mike was our neighbor and friend for years. Without him the whole neighborhood has changed. At least, it has changed for us. Michael was a big guy, but he was larger than himself, and his presence made life a little better for everyone around him. It made it better for Paula and I and I miss him.

Mr. O was a great teacher to all four of my children. He had my deepest admiration and respect.

Mr. O remains one of the most influential positive male role models in my life. I often think of him, and refer to his guidnace and teaching. Love you Mr. O.

Mr. O !!! What a GREAT man - I have amazing and wonderful memories of my 6th grade teachers (1976) - I am sure he and Mr. B will have the angels spelling "Chrysanthemum" 100 times - Praying comfort for his family - he was loved by so many
