Not sure what to say?

Pam & Family,

Just thought you should know that Mike's friends around the globe have sent their condolences as well.
The following was an e-mail response after I called RAF pilot Dave Thomas, a mutual friend from years ago at RAF Scampton, to tell him of Mike's untimely death.

Kathy, Betty and Don:
I always wondered if Mike was going to follow his dad and fly. Mike and I had good times growing up on Mission before my family moved in 1968 to Florida. I was saddened to hear about Mike but know he was doing what he loved. You all are in our prayers.

I'll remember Mike as a good friend with whom I shared many experiences over 24 years of knowing him. His love of a good joke was well known.
Mike was not known to be terribly fond of cats. I remember him asking me one day how to spell my cat's name. I told him, then realized that he had several shotgun shells on his desk, on which he was writing cat names. Ever since then, whenever I went TDY, I made sure to send him postcards featuring cats.
