Not sure what to say?

Every day, something I read or hear reminds me of Michael.

Unfortunately I learned about his death just now. I was a student of his at University of Wisconsin Law School and was his student aid there. He was a great mentor my entire career and a true gem. A brilliant and kind man. I am so saddened by the news.

My condolences to the family and friends of Professor Olivas. I was a student in his Immigration Law classes and he was hilarious! He had a great sense of humor, and wanted us to be great people, not just great lawyers. I still quote him to this day. He used to say that he would teach for free - but he hated grading papers, so he pretended all of his salary was for grading papers - being with us was fun. I have used that scenario many times in coaching people about their least favorite part...

Professor Michael Olivas was a student with me at St Pius X High School in the 1960's. Everything about him told you he would be a good man, a scholar and unique in his interests. Just chatting over breakfast with him last year left you with the feeling you were sitting with an accomplished man. His legacy will always remain. He is not really gone.

I am saddened to hear about Michael's passing. All of you are in our prayers.

Faithful Wishes Wreath

Our nation is a much better place because Michael lived and contributed greatly to it in extraordinary ways! May God Continue to Bless and grant eternal peace unto him! With much love for him, Tina and their family now and forever.

Michael was also instumental in keeping our 1968 St. Pius H.S. graduating class connected thru the years, organizing our class reunions, and keeping us informed of news related to members of that class. R.I.P. Michael, my friend since grade school......

I send heartfelt condolences to Tina and the family on Michael's passing. We had many conversations about movies and his insights and good humor will stay with me.
