Michael Orban, 72, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024, at UnityPoint Health in Sioux City, Iowa.  


 


Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 3 at All Saints Parish - St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Michael William Orban was born on August 27, 1951 to Arlys and Sam Orban in Le Mars, Iowa. He was raised in Le Mars and attended both Le Mars Community and Gehlen Catholic schools.


Mike worked for his lifelong friend, Dan Wells, on various projects here in Le Mars and in the Iowa Lakes area. He also worked with good friend, Dave Arens (including Marty and Tom), on various projects for Wells Dairy. He also managed the family's rental properties and provided care and support for his mother Arlys who lived to be 95 years old (she passed on Feb 19, 2020).


Mike is survived by his three children: Misty (Dan) Swink and their daughter Avery; Chet (Elizabeth) Orban and their children: Isabella, Arianna, and Dominic; and Chance (Kacey) Pearson and their children: Swayze and Fox all of Phoenix, Arizona; brother, Jim Orban of Le Mars; and other extended relatives.


Mike is preceded in death by his parents and his ex-wife Connie (Grosenheider) Pearson who passed in 2014. Although separated, Mike and Connie remained close through the later years of their lives.

I was sadden to hear of Mike's passing. I have known Mike since first grade. Old friends are the best, and I will always remember all the good times.
