Not sure what to say?

Thinking of my brother in arms on this day. 18 years to the day. So many laughs were had.

Remembering Michael's life, especially on this Memorial Day.....and the immeasurable generosity his family's loss has turned his legacy into.... He will never be forgotten

I love you and miss you. I never stop thinking about your sweet smile and loving ways. You are constantly with me where ever I go and that is the way it will always be.

Michaels bracelet next to a POW bracelet from Vietnam

You don't know me. I didn't know Michael personally. But I think of him often, and people often ask me about him.

11 years ago I bought a memorial bracelet from hero bracelets.org, I asked for a random name since I didn't know anyone who had served and died. I got PFC Michael K Oremus, Highland NY 10/2/06.

It was my intention to wear it every day until the war was over, and I have, save for scrubbing into a sterile surgery. Honestly I never thought I would be wearing it this...

My 3 boys have their Mikey O shirts on and look forward to this weekend every year...they call you their American Hometown Hero...we all feel that way

This past weekend was the annual soccer tournament in your name and again my husband played in it...very proud of him but this isn't why I am writing , I am writing because you would be so proud of your whole family and how they are honoring you...Mikey you are so loved by so many people and we all miss you so very much...I aspire to be like your mom she, like you, she is one of my heroes. I only hope that one day I can be half the mother she is. I know that you are always watching over all...

Michael.... Not a day goes by that you don't cross my mind. I remember hearing your hopes and dreams. I remember the good times and bad times together. You are very special... my prayer that day before you were taken from us was for forgiveness not for us but for those responsible for taking you away. I'll always remember you.

Remembered everyday. You are an amazing inspiration.

Remembering you on this special Memorial Day Weekend....how proud your family is of you, and what wonderful work they are doing in your honor....

To the family and friends of Pfc. Michael K. Oremus:
Please accept my remembrance of Michael on the anniversary of his passing and know that he will never be forgotten.
