Not sure what to say?

To the Paglia Family, my condolences on the loss of your father and grandfather. I knew Dr. Paglia from my days as a unit clerk at St. Vincent's Hospital on Staten Island. He was always pleasant, confident, even-keeled, and professional. He calmed patients even when they were scared on a vent in the intensive care unit (ICU). He was well-liked by the staff and treated everyone well. One day, he approached me and asked if I would be willing to help him maintain his pool. I agreed to help...

Hi Susan and AnnMarie, This is Patty McMahon, nee Sweeney. Besides knowing you from Notre Dame, my mom was a long-time patient of your dad's. Early on in her diagnosis, your dad was of the greatest comfort to her and our family. As a healthcare professional, I was aware of the ambiguities when taming "the nature of the beast," a phrase he taught me that I used throughout my career. My mom survived 50 years after that first intervention, and we attribute that mainly to his diligence,...

I met Dr Paglia when I was 14 I had a lump on my thigh and my Dad said Dr Paglia will know what to do and he did. I remember he numbed the area and took it out he said if there´s a lump in you body it doesn´t belong there you give it 3 months and then we take it out! If it´s nothing it´s nothing but if it´s something we take care of it plain and simple! My parents trusted him because he was trustworthy and compassionate he was very matter of fact and laid out a plan no beating around the...

Anne and Family Sorry for your loss.

My condolences to the Paglia Family. Dr. Paglia was a wonderful person who as a surgeon took care of all his patients as if they were family members. I worked with him in his Staten Island and Manhattan offices. He was a brilliant surgeon who was loved by many people. May he Rest In Peace

Wonderful surgeon. Rest in peace.

My sincere sympathy to the Paglia family. His gifts to those who knew him touched all of us in a special way. I feel blessed to have known him as a doctor and a good friend. I will always remember his kindness and humility. His rich life should be celebrated by all of us. PS and I do remember his passion for peanuts.

My condolences to the family. He was a great surgeon. He had great empathy and was a great teacher to all. He will be remembered by all who he touched and healed and gave more time to their life. He tought me so much I use today in my job as an OR nurse and my scrubbing abilities today. Great man and surgeon.

I had the honor of working with Dr. Paglia at St. Vincent´s . He cared deeply for his patients and was a wonderful teacher, not only to the surgical residents, but to the nurses as well. I will always remember him for two things especially:1.He was always a gentleman and 2. he insisted that there should always be peanut butter and crackers available in the O.R break room so the staff always had something available to eat during extremely busy times . May he rest in peace.
