Newmarket - Michael J. Paradise, 79, of Exeter Street, died February 5, 2003 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, after a brief illness.

Born November 9, 1923 in Camden, NJ he was the son of Michele and Maria (Jordano) Paradiso. He resided in Newmarket for the past 59 years.

During World War II he served in the US Marine Corps. He was stationed in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and was at Iwo Jima.

Mike worked as a welder at the Portsmouth Naval and retired with 32 years of service.

He was a member of the Robert G. Durgin American Legion Post #67 of Newmarket, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and St. Mary's Church.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Doris (Beauchesne) Paradise of Newmarket; a son, Dennis Paradise and his wife Linda of Deerfield; 2 daughters, Lorraine Roulston of Plano, Texas, and Sandra Main of East Rochester; 2 grandsons, Michael S. Sydnor of Apoka, Fl. and Jeffrey M. Paradise of Seabrook; 1 great granddaughter, Shaklia Van Amburgh of Akron, Ohio; 3 brothers, Joseph Paradise, Albert Paradise, and Raymond Paradise all of New Jersey; 2 sisters, Janet Sardero and Mary Gallicu both of New Jersey; several nieces, & nephews.

Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in the spring in Calvary Cemetery, Newmarket.
