Not sure what to say?

Again, recalling Michael's warmth, friendship, honesty and personal strength of character .... it's all what's missing more and more in this world. He was a giant and royalty in all that he did. A true class act. I still miss you, Michael. My heart goes out to his family.

I worked with Michael on various marketing gambits, when with the Symphony back in the late 80´s, into the 90´s. Always a contributor with excellent suggestions, and pleasure to work with. Very sad seeing this news.

Michael and were just a few years apart in age and I used to frequent Music Millenium when he was there, remembering him as a great guy who clearly enjoyed his career and life. Thank you Mike, for all your kindness, warm friendship and musical offerings. Rest in peace, I'm not far behind you.

I didn't really know Michael, but I often saw him at Classical Music Millenium, before it sadly closed down, and at Oregon Symphony concerts, where he sat at a table in the lobby of the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall selling classical CDs. We always exchanged hellos, smiles, and chatted briefly. He was a warm, welcoming, and friendly fixture at both the store and at the concert hall. I was always glad to see him. He brightened up the room with his friendly aura and intelligence. I sensed that...

Michael was a kind and generous man- with his worldly possessions, his time and his knowledge. He always graciously welcomed me when I stopped by his gallery just to say hello, and when I frequented Music Millennium often in search of something I had heard on the radio while driving and hadn´t written down....but had just enough information to help him find it. He was so thoughtful and helpful when my father passed away- a kindness I will never forget. Michael´s passing leaves an...

I met Michael when I popped into his gallery. While I was on a tight budget, Michael graciously allowed me to make payments on a painting that had drawn me into the store. That artwork hangs in my living room to this day. Over the years I visited the gallery, often with out of town friends - to see Michael’s NW artist works. He would always graciously greet me by name, regardless of the time that had passed since my last visit. I adored him, his fine taste and genuine love of art. You will be...

My husband (Michael Gibbons, Artist, 1943-2020) and I met Michael many years ago when purchasing classical music recordings and continued our friendship through the arts. Michael visited us in Toledo (near Newport) several times at our home at the old 1926 Vicarage Signature Gallery I manage with the result of his representing my husband's art and a solo show that was quite successful. Retired Gov. Barbara Roberts (who always loved Michael's art and even showed it in Mahonia Hall ) attended...

My relationship with Michael has been not related to his work as a gallery owner, nor did I work at the Symphony. I work at a movie theater he enjoyed going to for the last few years, and honestly I didn't even really know his name. I knew him by his energy and passion. He always ordered the same thing: small buttered popcorn and a large water. I usually had it ready for him by the time he got to the snack bar. He carried a sense of calm and a concern for others that is uncommon to come...

I was so sad to read of Michael's passing in the Oregonian. I worked for Michael at Classical Millennium in the early 90s as well as the mid 2000s when I returned to Portland after a number of years in Michigan. I worked at the store and also at concert venues. He was always a mensch as a supervisor, and he and Marti were great to work with at the venues--we had fun together and shared a lot of laughs. I was delighted to come across artworks from his collection at the Portland Art Museum. It...
