This is sad news to me. It was my privilege to have coached Mike in baseball when he was 12 yrs old for the Snohomish All-Stars and on a select Pony League team the following year. He was a lefty pitcher - same as me - and also played catcher. I loved that he was willing to listen to my instructions as I coached him. He also was a very good hitter and got a HR in our game vs the other Snohomish All-Stars team in Mt Vernon, WA. At Emerson Elementary I recall he played some good basketball in...
