Michael A. Portillo

Michael A. Portillo born on October 17, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on October 7, 2014 at the age of 53. He is preceded in death by his father, William Portillo; grandson, baby Raven. He is survived by his mother, Maria Elena Garza; wife, Maria L. Portillo; daughters, Michelle Uribe and husband Miguel Uribe, and Emily Perez; sons, Michael A. Portillo, James Portillo and wife Lisa, and Michael Perez; brothers, Kenneth Portillo, Frank De Luna and wife Victoria; sisters, Tanya Portillo Sanchez, Tina Portillo De Soto and husband Eddie Diaz; 10 grandchildren; numerous extended family and friends.

Michael married at the young age of 16. He was the star football player while he attended Southwest High School. HE made a living as a well-known DJ by the name of "Chicago Mike". He was also a talented automotive paint and bodyman for many years. He loved going to the Coast and was an avid fisherman. In his spare time he would relax at the movies or go out to eat. Michael attained his black belt in Karate and was a fan of Bruce Lee and his movies. His favorite time was just being surrounded by his family especially the grandchildren who meant the world to him. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM in the Hillcrest chapel. Family and friends will meet on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at San Juan de Los Lagos for a 10:00 AM Mass.
