Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Wichita Falls Obituary

Michael Allen Potts, 64, of Wichita Falls passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021.

The family will receive friends between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. followed by a funeral at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls with Brother Cameron Holley, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Michael was born on March 26, 1957 to the late Donald and Genevieve (Lytle) Potts in Lafayette, Indiana. After graduating high school, he drove semi-trucks across the country and settled down in Wichita Falls, Texas. Michael met Delores Chreene and the couple married on March 27, 1987. Michael enjoyed fishing, camping, watching Nascar and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. He found great joy in birdwatching and was always on the lookout for his favorite, the Purple martin. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy and LSU football fan. Since Michael favored Santa, at Christmas time he enjoyed doing everything he could to make it a special time for kids. Michael’s big heart will be missed by many family and friends.

Along with his parents, Michael was preceded in death by brother, Larry Potts; two nephews, Jason Stromitt and Brandon Dunagan; and brother-in-law, Don Chreene.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Potts; children: Jeffery Bledsoe and wife, Theresa, Steven Bledsoe and wife, Martha and Brandi Rangel and husband, Shannon; grandchildren: Trinity Lerma, Steven Bledsoe Jr, Travis Bledsoe and wife, Lauren, Kimberlyn Bledsoe, Lynden Strickland, Hali Rangel, Seth Rangel, Brianna Rangel, Joseph Rangel; great grandchildren: Blaze Bledsoe, Gunnar Bledsoe, and McCartney Bledsoe; three siblings: Barbara Murphy, Ed Potts; Brother in law: Kenny Chreene; ten nieces and nephews: Marsha Burke-Robinson, Roxann Arnott, Shannon Potts, Brooke Cannon, Nicole Wilson, Larry Potts Jr., Adam Stromitt, Jacob Stromitt, Chryl Mimimck and Kasey Chreene; and numerous other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
