Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary


POWERS, Michael L. “Mouse” – Of Flint Township, age 55, died Friday, January 5, 2018, with his family by his side at Henry Ford Hospital. 


Celebration visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. 


Burial in Flint Memorial Park. 


Michael was born in Flint, Michigan on January 19, 1962, the son of Lewis and Elizabeth (Dugas) Powers. 


Michael attended Ainsworth High School, graduating in 1980. He was on the wrestling team3 years, while he was there with his brothers. 


Attending Lincoln Tech Michael earned an Associate’s Degree in Auto Tech. 


Not one to set around, Michael worked auto repair, construction, small engine repair, baker and his passion, putting together bicycles for people. 


Michael left a lasting impression on acquaintances, school mates, and those he worked with. 


He was a great son, brother and uncle. 


Surviving are mother, Elizabeth Powers;


brothers, Keith (Julie), Steve (Mary) and Lawrence (Dana); 


uncles and aunts; 


also cousins, nephews and great-nephew. 


He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Lewis; sister, Linda Powers and nephew, Keith Borgerding.

Dear Liz and Family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mike. I can't imagine the heartbreak of losing a child. Praying God will hold you close and give you peace.

Mike was very handy with bikes and motors and helped me several times. My deepest sympathy.
