Michael Patrick Powers

Chicopee- Michael Patrick Powers, a lifelong resident of Chicopee, passed away at his home on August 4, 2023, with his family by his side.  A son of the late Louise (Cuzzone) and George Powers. Mike was born on May 9, 1956. He attended Chicopee Public Schools and was a union painter, and proud member of IUPAT Local Union 257 for over 30 years. Known for his vibrant personality, he could always be spotted in his neon or tie dye shirts, complemented by his colorful flower print hats. He enjoyed the outdoors, brightening the yard with his signature painted rocks, and camping, where he loved sitting around a fire with friends and family. Mike also enjoyed cribbage and loved watching sports as a lifelong Boston fan.  His generous spirit was evident in his love for making popcorn and sharing it at every family gathering and important occasion. Mike leaves behind his loving wife, Cindy (Carosella) Powers and their children, Caitlin Powers and her husband, Chris Beaulieu, of Derry, NH and Gregory Powers and his wife Meghan of Chicopee, MA. Mike was a proud grandfather (“Pops”) to Violette, Joseph, and Jonah Powers.  He is also survived by his sister, Susan Zielinski, of FL and his brother, George Powers, of Chicopee, MA. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded by his siblings Janet Lynch and Jack Powers of Chicopee, MA.  Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of Mike’s life on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00pm at the Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St, Chicopee, MA, with a funeral home service at 4:00.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Chicopee Senior Center Inc. - Tree of Life Program, c/o RiverMills Center, 5 West Main St, Chicopee, MA 01020.  To share a memory or to leave your condolences for the family, please visit www.CorridanFuneral.com
