Read MoreMike was my supervisor and my friend. I worked for him for almost 10 years. He was honest, kind, professional and a very intelligent person. He was always supportive and involved in my work and I learned a lot from him. He seemed to be a loving father and we talked a lot about his daughter and their shared love of baseball. I'm sorry we lost him so soon in life and I will truly miss him.

Mike and his Buffalo Buddies, 1980
I first met Mike when we were both graduate students at the University at Buffalo, in the early 1970's. We later worked together for several years at the U.S. army Corps of Engineers in Buffalo, NY, Mike as a geologist and myself as a geotechnical engineer. After Mike and Regina left Buffalo for their new life in Phoenix, I never saw him again.
