My family was involved in ballooning for quite a few years. Mike was the one pilot we searched out at every race (if he did not find us first). He always made us laugh and could "give as good as he got", maybe better! Even if my parents were not with me, he never missed asking about them. When I told my mom about his passing, she was very upset and made sure I put a comment in from her - "I loved him"! I think that says it all. He will be missed by all who knew him - even those who saw...

Mike was a real treat. Moving through the peaceful sky with him piloting that colorful balloon was magical... time stood still. We all looked forward to race day and drew straws to see who the lucky one would be to ride with Mike each year. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
