Not sure what to say?

Praying for you all as you continue to cope with the home going of Mike. We love you all. Hugs from us and the girls.

What can I say?? Jerry & Betty had three children, Randy, Mike, and Missy. Gerry and I had three children, Larry, Mark, and Shari in that order, and the same coresponding ages to Randy, Mike, and Missy. That's right, both had two boys and one lovely girl. Jim & Jerry were probably closer than brothers birth thru teenage, even though cousins. His grandpa Joe was a brother to my grandpa Asa AKA Uncle Bud. Mike and Mark worked together many hot summer days in the hay and etc. on the Benton...

We have lost a wonderful friend, and a great husband and father. Our prayers are with the Rakes family.

Mike had a tremendous passion for life. He was like a big brother to me for many years, and was such a positive influence. Though he has passed well before his time, he has already lived a life bigger and fuller than most of us will if we live to be one hundred and fifty seven. I am honored to have know him and early in life and want to express to his family my deepest condolences. To Jerry, Betty, Randy, Missy, we love and miss you guys and pray that God will strengthen you through this...

I remember Mike as my "extra kid brother". He and my brother, Jim were very best friends growing up.I remember them always being together during the summer, thinking up situations to get into! Mike was always such a nice guy. (My Grandmother Drake just loved him!) I am so sorry he left this earth at such a young age. Our family has your family in our prayers.

The first time I met Mike Rakes, we talked for about an hour as he toured my model homes. He was so easy to talk to. He told me about all that he had overcome in the recent years and he was so inspiring. I am glad to have gotten the opportunity to know him and work with him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

It is still very hard to believe that this tragedy happened to you. Even though I just knew you last October, but you left a very deep impression and inspiration in me. You are a great man with great visions. You taught me not to worry about anything, and never stop until the end. Thank you for the lessons and all the infectious laugh. You really had been a blessing to people around you. You will be deeply missed. You are in a much more better place right now.
My deepest condolences for...

When we first moved into our new home at Marcin Estates, Mike was the first person to welcome us. It was extremely uplifting every time I spoke with Mike. His sense of humor could warm any heart and what he had to say always had a meaning. I will greatly miss Mike and it was an honor to know him. Rest in Peace Mike.
