When attending college in Minneapolis, I had the opportunity to spend time with Mike and his beautiful wife Kelley while he was getting his masters. One of Michael´s many strengths was that he always found a way to make himself available to those who had a need. A shared experience with Michael was his showing me, with understandable pride, the wonderful N.W. Portland. He most likely bought an ice cream for me. Reeling in those August, 2004 days from a traffic accident that eventually took our daughter´s life, Michael was a gentle ray of solidarity and kindness
