Michael Rawson

Mike wrote in my high school yearbook--- "To be an optimist is unrealistic. To be a pessimist is to admit failure. The key to life is to live for the moment. Do things how you think they should be done with consideration and compromise for everyone." My I recall him like the other guys he hung around with then, fondly and faith-filled. My condolences to his family and dear friends.

Mike was a cherished friend, with whom I shared many a lunch and conversation. He could and would entertain any topic, although when the idea went too far he was less than gentle in his rebuke.

I will miss the walks we took on the North Country Trail. Rosie would lead, always searching for that next perfect body of stagnant water in which to bathe. She and Mike both knew the drill.

I miss you, Mikey. Godspeed, man.

I only had the pleasure of meeting Mike a few times, but his zest for life was unforgettable and contagious. Somehow he pulled off the delicate balance of charming curmudgeon and organized optimist simultaneously.

I will cherish this man forever for raising an outstanding human who is one of my top five favorite people on the planet. You did good, Mike, both in your living and how you prepared for your leaving. You're an inspiration and you are missed desperately.
