Not sure what to say?

I was a registered nurse at Arlington Hospital (Virginia Hospital Center) and often worked with the wonderful, compassionate, patient advocate Dr. Michael Reilly. He was a good friend of my mother, also an RN at Arlington. One evening shift, after what I’m sure was a long day for Dr. Reilly, he stopped in to see a new patient who hadn’t had her dinner. Dr. Reilly gave her the sandwich he had with him for his own dinner. This was typical of his unselfish caring for patients.

Thank you Dr for your great kindness to my Mother, and me and for your Christmas cards that I will miss.God Bless You dear friend

My God's perpetual light shine upon Dr. Mike's soul....may he rest in peace!

A wonderful example of a life of grace

I remember Michael well from my time worshiping with him at St Aloysius in the 1990s. The living of such a life requires more celebration than mourning, and I'm sure his services revealed that. Wish I could have been there. For his family, I join in thanking you for this good man.

Dr. Reilly was my husband's mentor at Arlington Hospital many years ago. We named our first dog "Doc" in his honor! He remained a cherished friend over many years. We had the pleasure of being his guest at Art with a Heart and reconnecting every few years. Always enjoyed his holiday letters and news about the garden. He was a really special person and our lives were better for knowing him. Condolences to the family he was so fond of.

Dr. Reilly has been a dear client of our firm for many years. We looked forward to his visits to our office and I always enjoyed our talks about his love of gardening. His generosity was inspiring and he will be dearly missed.

Saddened to hear about the passing of Dr. Reilly. That is how I have always referred to him and addressed him. Michael as my mother Evelyn Hogan called him. He was a very dear friend to her. She passed away last year. My mother always spoke of his kindness. Every year he would bring her oranges back from Florida. They enjoyed a long friendship with trips to lunch and long phone conversations. I included him on my Christmas card list several years ago and enjoyed receiving one from him with...
