To the Rooney Family.

Our condolences to the Rooney family. We were very happy to see you on the beach a week before you pass away. It was like you were saying goodby to all of us. That was just like you Mike always thinking of others. Well you will be miss. You are in our prays always.

I had the honor and privledge to have worked with "Big Mike" in the 20 Sqd. for a number of years. He was our go to guy. Whenever you had a problem with an investigation or a boss, you went to Mike. On a lighter note, whenever you were missing a sandwich or a pint of ice cream, you also went to Mike!! God Bless him and his family

In the words of a very great man, my father, "This is Family". And even if your name isn't Rooney or Hamill or Geary, McNamara or Terry, and just maybe if you aren't even Irish, if you were a friend, you were his family. And he loved people. And people loved him. That's why he had so many friends.

It doesn't matter how...

This is not the first time I have started without knowing where to start. All I can say is from Manhattan to Montauk you were such a big part of my life. Thank you for being my friend, and knowing which direction to point me in. I miss you Mike.

Our deepest condolences to Jean and family. Mike was a great guy with a wicked sense of humor and twinkle in his eye. We will miss him and always remember his warm smile and infectious laugh.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Our last visit with Mikey and Kevin was in the Florida Keys. Mike was in his element, and that's how I will always remember him. Jean and Family, Margie and Kevin, our condolences and prays. God speed cousin......

To The Rooney Family,

We are sorry to hear that Mike has passed away. Mike was such a nice man and we are so happy that we had a chance to spend time with him and Jean this year.

We send our prayers and condolences to all of you

Sharon & Joe Bordonaro

Our condolences to Jean and family, Margie, Kevin and all of theirs. The last time we saw Mike was in 2002, after our father's funeral, but he will always be my big football playing/cop cousin.
