I have also just heard of Chef Mike's passing. I had the pleasure of doing my Chef extern program there at Brennan's with Chef Mike. I learned a lot from him. I was only there a short while, but the fine tuning with herbs and spices and cooking styles was and is priceless education. Sorry to hear he's gone....

It's 2012 and I'm sadly just now learning of Chef's passing. I have his cookbook after watching him on TV. What an inspiration he has been in my life. Love ya Chef.

I have just heard of the passing of Chef Mike, and am deeply saddened. A few years back my brother and I went to New Orleans after seeing, (and taping!) Chef Mike on PBS. Our first night there we dined at Brennan's and since it was my brothers birthday, I asked if the Chef would sign a birthday card for him. Well, he not only signed it, but he hand delivered it to him at our table! My brother was floored and so was I! I will never forget how very gracious and kind he was as he signed my...
