I saw The rust brothers ay the Saint Patrick days parade in Dublin it is one of my treasured memories i am so sorry for the way Mike passed
I lye in clay
Beneath the earth
But my soul is free
Free like a bird soaring high
In blue skies
Like a rainbow
With its colours divine
And soft rain in spring time
Crisp white snow in winter
Cry for me
Laugh for me
Live for me
For I am in the crevices
Of your hearts...

i will miss mike terribly. i was very fortunate indeed to have made his accqauntance during my employment at joyful journey hot springs. Whenever he graced us when coming in to soak and meditate, he lit up the entire energy of the place. he was a great man with a great spirit, and although the journey there may not have been pleasant, i know that he is in the most peaceful place none of us could ever imagine until it is our time to make the journey also. peace to all family and friends. nikki

Just saw the death notice for Michael.
I worked with Mary Jane Rust at Park & Rec until 1997 and know how proud she was of her son and the contributions he made through the life he lived.

To Mike’s family and many friends: please accept my deepest sympathy and condolences.
It is with much fondness that I remember Mike. I was very fortunate to meet him during a bike ride in 1975; he was one of the happiest, kindest and most genuine persons that I’d ever met, and we soon became fast friends. Over the next few years, Mike provided me with endless mechanical support and loaner equipment for bike races, but would never accept compensation – even for destroyed or lost...

That St. Patty's Day was the last time we saw him, too. I always loved playing music for him. He was such a softy that it was easy to make him cry ... in a good way, I mean. He loved his family so deeply, with all his heart. We miss him.

To Mary Jane and the family I send my deepest condolences. I can't imagine the pain you have been going through, the prayers, and finally, the acceptance. I was unaware of the disappearance of Michael until today. I have been absent from Colorado Springs for many years but never forgot Mary Jane when I worked for the city at Park and Rec.
You are all in my prayers. Sincerely, Sharon Best (Park and Rec, 1980-1983?)
