My heart breaks for your family. I can close my eyes and still see him and hear him as he cheered me on. Twenty plus years ago is a long time, but I have great memories of him and nothing but. I have seen the passion of coaching in his eyes during wins and defeats. I remember him as an amazing coach/person and someone to look up too. I pray for comfort, healing, patience. When I was 10 years old and new kid at Leary elementary my friend was invited to a birthday party. I was staying the night at his house. He said it was cool if I went with him. I was very awkward and shy. I didn’t feel like I fit in with the crowd. So this taller than life 15 year old hung out with me and played basketball with me and made me feel welcomed.
