Michael Patrick Ryan, 71, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, formerly of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021. He was with his daughter, Hillary, and his brother, Tim, when he passed.

Elaine, Ian, Hillary & Family, Sending hugs & prayers to all. So sorry to hear of your loss. I will always cherish the fun times we shared at First Presbyterian in small groups, youth group, & Sunday worship services.

Memories....high school, trip to Florida, then back through New Jersey, Klinger Lake, some Friday nights, but the best part, FRIENDSHIP. Mike was a friend, and although life took us in different directions, and if my memory is correct, we only connected a couple times in the past 50 plus years, but in the Eternity we will both be there in the presence of Jesus and our Heavenly Father. Very sad to see this! Got to know Mike a bit when he was subbing at Memorial. Just a really nice guy! His obit is so fitting. My condolences to all his friends and family.

I was fortunate enough to call Mike my friend. He was truly one of a kind. Michael was the friend that would stay up all night to help me wall paper for the first time. He would also get up out of bed at 3 a.m. to come over and help clean up carpeting in our new baby's bedroom after our other children decided to paint the entire room, carpeting and all.

Michael always had a kind word, a great story, or a dad joke to lighten the day. His love of all and his faith put into action...
