Baca's Funeral Chapels - Las Cruces Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of MICHAEL PAUL SANCHEZ, 46, who left us on Monday April 21, 2025. He was born October 4, 1978, in Las Cruces New Mexico at Memorial Medical Hospital. His spirit will live on in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Michael was a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched everyone around him. He was deeply loved by his family.

Michael is survived by his mother, Debra F. Ybarvo (Ismael); father, Mario M. Sanchez “Buddy” (Henrietta); his children, Nathaniel Sanchez, Reyna Sanchez and Ussiah Sanchez; his brothers, Mario Sanchez (Kasia), Matthew Sanchez, Joel David Ybarvo, and Chris Moreno; sisters, Cecilia Perez and Monica Moreno. Michael’s presence was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In his life, Michael made a lasting impact through his competitiveness specifically in sports but really anything he did. He was a man of all trades. He specialized in glass work. If you knew Michael, you knew he had a passion to cook food. Michael was the kind of man that if you needed help with anything he was always right there willing to lend a hand to anyone and everyone he could.

Whether it was through his compassionate nature or his infectious sense of humor, he brought joy to many. Michael's family and friends are devastated by his loss, but they take comfort in knowing that his memory will live on through the stories and love he leaves behind.

He is preceded in death with loved ones as listed, Ismael Ybarvo, Helen Aragon, Josefina Ybarvo, Helen Rios, Robert Fernandez, and Martin Sanchez.

A service will be held at Calvary Christian Centey on Friday June 6, 2025, at 11 AM. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Michael’s life and remembering the positive impact he had on everyone he met. Michael’s legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will never be forgotten.
