Keith Funeral & Cremation Services - Hilton Head Obituary

Hilton Head Island, SC.  In a split second, we lost an extraordinary storyteller, novelist (“The Best Good Time,” 2010), artist, avid baseball fan, golfer, dog dad, and a loving husband, brother and uncle.  Known for his larger-than-life personality and great sense of humor, he regaled friends...

Not sure what to say?

I was so very sorry to learn of Michael's passing. Somehow I thought we would meet again in the next few years, as we had recently reconnected through mutual friends geographically close to you. I knew Michael in the mid to late 70's when we were all members of 35 Virginia, a beach house in Rehoboth Delaware. I'm sure, Paula, you have heard many stories about those years and the members of the house. For those who don't know, Rehoboth had many large houses that were inhabited by DC...

Dear Paula, please allow me to express my sincere condolences to you. I was Mike's 'Little Brother' in the University Club at John Carroll. Hard to believe it was the Spring of 1969 that we first met. One Semester together, Mike's Senior year and my Freshman year. Not much time together, but it is crazy that we kept in touch for 55 years. Mostly UClub reunions, which Mike loved, he was truly dedicated to the 'Green' fraternity, but Mike would call me when he was in Chicago, and we would...

Dear Paula, so sorry to learn of Mike's passing. We met as freshmen at John Carroll and became University Club fraternity brothers. From the moment we met to our last time together at a U-Club reunion, Mike always brought his spirited, fun-loving self. In '68, Mike was head of a Republican college organization, and recruited some of us U-Club brothers to work as pages (which required Secret Service clearance!) for a Nixon visit to Cleveland. It was clear that underneath that infectious...

Mike was an amazing human being, fraternity brother and friend. We spent 3 years together at JCU and enjoyed getting together over the years at University Club reunions in Cleveland, Chicago and Erie, PA among others. RIP Mike.

So very sad to hear of Mike´s passing from Paula. We were great friends and roommates at John Carroll University as seniors. Mike was a fraternity brother in the University Club, a service fraternity at JCU, and was the U-Club man-of-the-year in 1969. One of his proudest moments was being the organizer of the U-Club delegation to the JCU mock political convention which swept all the awards under his leadership. He was a great buddy, and I´ll miss him forever.

We were looking forward to playing golf again with Mike up in Myrtle Beach in a couple of weeks. We'll miss you, bud. Jim Clarke and the rest of the Cleveland Gang

Dearest Paula, Bill and I send our condolences and prayers to you. The loss of your spouse is devastating but more so when it´s sudden! May you feel God´s arms around you during this time! Fondly, Bill and Linda Townsend

Sending thoughts of comfort and hope that you find strength to get through the difficult days ahead. Love,
