Our deepest sympathy to Mike's family. He was such a friendly man and had such passion for life! He would often come over with Dori for coffee,(or a diet Vernor's) ;-), to visit with my dad and our dog, Beethoven. Mike knew all of the neighbor's dogs and they all loved Mike! He was a good friend of my dad's and would often call or visit to check on him after my mom passed on Feb 20,2015. Mike will be greatly missed. Wonderful, caring man, and good friend!

My family were all sincerely saddened to hear the news of Mike's passing. He adopted our family many years ago because of his love of children. He has remained forever engrained in our hearts. Our deepest sympathy to the entire Scharrer family.

I am so sorry for your loss. As a child I have many memories of going to visit with my parents. Geese, the piano that played by itself, the black bathroom (that for many years later I wanted), and watching Charlotte's Web on a disk, LONG before DVDs came out. Your family is in my thoughts.

To all of Mike's families, Saddened to hear the news of Mike. The Scharrer farm was kitty corner to ours. In summer after chores and supper Harold, Mike, another neighbor Chuck and I would play barnyard softball. I remember the rule, whoever hit a home run into the cow yard had to climb the fence, watch out for the bull, get the ball, and wipe it off in the grass, then we could play some more. Mike hit lots of homers so his shoes were always 'dirty'. Will miss bumping into him here and...
