My husband and I worked with Mike at Suburban General during our internship / residencys . Mike was truly my favorite mentor / attendings . I remember him looking like an intern himself and talking about his ice hockey games . He was so personable and funny . This news was heartbreaking to me . We are so very sorry for your tragic loss . I knew and worked with Mike for many years. First as an intern, then as a resident and finally as a skilled and accomplished surgeon. His patients got amazing care, the surgical staff and those that he mentored loved and respected him.
I offer my sincere sympathy to all of his family and friends.

Mike was my friend for many years. I knew him throughout his internship and residency and as a practicing surgeon. His patients could not have received better care. He was always kind and caring, sensitive to their needs. He was a favorite with co-workers and staff, always fun and willing to listen. He loved chocolate chip cookies and convinced me that my son didn't need military school, just patience.
