Not sure what to say?

Very nice man. I knew Michael Shallow his last years in our building at 405 N Wabash. I recall his excitement in 2006 he was to take an ocean liner to Europe to visit the Germans who as kids he gave his k-rations & chocolate to in 1945 after Germany surrendered (Michael was an army medic). Those ex-kids, retirees by 2006, paid his fare. Michael was also a nice, supportive voice during our 2012 teacher strike - he taught a year at Fenger HS before the war. Sorry this message is 11...

What a great friend who loved the Opera.

My dearest Unk:

Now just a little more than 5 years since you left us, allow me to rekindle your memory with this message of love for the joy that you gave to the Shallow family. To be never forgotten, your words to me as we would part company after one of our occasional lunches when I worked on the Magnificent Mile; 'Now, Watch Yourself, Watch Yourself'.

I think of you often and miss you more.
Love,
Karen

I just heard my dear friend Michael Shallow passed away. We met when I was an usher at Holy Name Cathredral and we then would go out to lunch and have the most wonderful conversations. Michael will be missed.

I was shocked to learn just now of Mike's death. I was expecting to see him again when I make my annual visit to Chicago. We'd been friends for 50 years. James L. Riedy

I was so sorry to hear that Michael had died. I have known him for the past decade or so at River Plaza. I liked him so much! He was such a cultured, well-traveled man, but also such a warm, delightful, enthusiastic person. I will miss our conversations enormously. My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.
