Although we didn't keep in touch after I left John Helmer, I will always remember Mike for his warm smile and gift of story telling. He meant so much to so many. That's a nice legacy. I will plant a tree in his honor.

So sad to hear the news! Hugs to Rachel Mike was a great man in so many ways! We go back a long time (45 years) back to the John Helmer days, where he was my boss and friend. He will be greatly missed by MANY!!! Rest in peace

I learned of Michael´s passing today from a long time friend of his...I have known Michael and Rachel for many years and see them from time to time, each time they always had a smile. My condolences to Rachel and family.

Rachel and Laurie Michael was a unbelievable man and a kind one too. The memories of him will live on forever.. I´m sure it be fun for all of us to write a book. He always said the greatest stories. And that wild little dancer. he had a big heart for such a Small man.. a real true blue gentleman. Will make you proud as we keep dancing in memory of you.. Rachel/Laurie, please know that we both appreciate the times and occasions we´ve got to spend with each other. Knowing how meaningful experiences are with friends and family can be priceless, I´m truly happy to say I´m blessed to have known Michael and shared many laughs with him and you both. I am just now learning of Mike´s passing. I saw it in the Oregonian. Rachel, I am so sorry to hear of this, shocked in fact, because Michael is such a bigger than life person and it just does not seem the same to not have him as a strong presence here in Newberg. Again, I am so sorry and sad. I am thinking of you.
