Not sure what to say?

Mrs Shimkin and Family- I'm deeply saddened to hear about Mr Shimkin's passing. My mother (Enid) worked for many years for your families as a housekeeper to your residences and your family was very kind to our family. I have fond memories of visiting the Pond Ridge and Larchmont homes growing up. I am also very grateful for the support Mr Michael gave me my first year in college for which will never forget. He always checked in regularly and was so supportive, positive and happy. Condolences...

My sincere condolences to family and friends. May the God who binds up the brokenhearted and comforts all who mourn, sustain your family during this difficult time - Isaiah 61:1, 2.

Dear Barbara and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Knowing Michael [for almost thirty years, I realize] was a joy - every time we saw each other, my heart was lifted and I came away inspired and grateful. Wishing you solace in this very difficult time. Thank you for sharing Michael with all of us and for supporting him and all the good he did in this world. We will all miss him!

Barbara, We met you and Michael many years ago through Gail and Alan Jaffe. Michael was so helpful to me when I published my first book with Simon & Schuster. I have never forgotten that. So sorry to hear of his death. Our thoughts are with you and your family. Helaine Fendelman

Dear Family and Friends . I'm so very sorry for your Precious loss. May your memories always bring smiles to your faces & comfort & joy to your hearts. May the God Comfort and help you through this difficult time. Isaiah 61:1,2. Please accept my sincere condolences

My heart goes out to you Barbara and the entire Shimkin family. The world has lost a shining advocate, and an unwavering ally for its most vulnerable. Michael took on big problems by leading with empathy and followed-up with his keen mind and personal action. He was a pioneer in his philanthropy, measuring impact and implementing sustainable change before they were even topics in the field. But at the end of the day, he was a believer in the human spirit and our connectivity in life's...

Barbara, Julie, Josh and the rest of the family, So very sad to not have Michael's presence in my life. I have been jotting down my thoughts and will share them with you later. Miss him dearly. His passion, his commitment to issues, love for people and that infectious smile will live with me forever.

My deepest sympathies to Barbara and all the family. Michael was a tremendous person, I remember him so well, so extremely kind and motivated, and as a strong social minded and action-oriented person striving for and achieving positive change, when having the honor to volunteer with him and all in the NY Oxfam Comte he led so many years ago. He was an inspiration for me in my continued work in countries around the world over the years. He will be very much missed by all.
