Not sure what to say?

Sorry this is so late but I have been sick. I have known Smitty about 30 years and he was such a joy to know. No matter how bad you felt when you seen him coming you had to laugh. He had a killer smile that would light up the world. He will be missed and I'm so sorry for you loss as well as all his friends but espically his bestest buddy Jake. My prayers are with you all.

There aren't enough words to describe how my uncle lived his life. Overwhelming generosity is the one characteristic that everyone will tell you he demostrated to those close to him, and sometimes, those not so close to him. The sarcasm, humor, and witt will be tremdously missed and Mike has almost a legendary status in Franklin County for being one of the most standup, decent people you could meet. We are all better people to have had the opportunity to share a laugh, a drink, and a...

Michelle, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

I first met Smitty nearly 30 years ago, playing pool tournaments at Paul's BBQ while I was in school at Ferrum. After I graduated, we lost touch for a while, but had reconnected over the last several years. We played a lot of golf and pool, and spent a lot of time just jawin' about sports, hunting and fishing, money, politics and about anything else you can think of. I don't know if I've ever known more of a "straight-up" guy than Smitty - fiercely loyal and protective of his friends and...

It was such a pleasure to have known "Smitty". He will be greatly missed.

Hunting and fishing will never be the same for me. Mike was my best buddy. He will be missed.

I can remember playing with Mike as a young boy, we plyed football a lot, played in the barns and the fields.
I also remember playing pool together so much at the Bar-B-Q
Mike will be missed and will be remembered as a wonderful friend.
Mike is now in Gods hands and will always be taken care of.
Thanks be to God for his son Jesus Christ who died for us all.
Glory to God in the highest.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Judy, I am so blessed to have been friends with you and Smitty for so many years. I remember so many good times we all have had over the years. He was a ray of sunshine to me. I never saw him when he wasn't smiling or laughing and I'll always remember that. God Bless you and may you find Strength and comfort thru God's love. My Love and Prayers, Joan
