Michael John Smith

I am saddened by just hearing about Mike's passing. We met as young cops and went to "choir practice" together. I was Detective Smith at Lower Paxton while Mike was Swatara's own Detective Smith. We tended to get each other's calls. He was a great cop and I enjoyed working with him. I will miss him.

Judge Smith married my husband and I on September 30th, 2021. We were so excited and after it was all done, HE asked US if we wanted to take a picture with him! We were honored-if you´ll pardon the pun! It was such a great memory for us! We are so saddened to hear of his passing. Reading his obituary shared with us that he was truly an incredible person and will hold a special place in our hearts forever!

He married me and my wife on February 23 , 2024 He was very kind and friendly gentleman. He actually enjoyed the ceremony.

All members of Greater Harrisburg Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 78 wish to extend our since sympathy to the Smith family concerning the recent passing of Brother Mike Smith who has been a continual, committed member of our Lodge for years. I remember his Honor, when he was a Detective for the Swatara Twp PD and I was a Dauphin County 911 Dispatcher. He was very fair and a man of character and integrity. RIP Mike
